Friday, Aug 15 - Rehearsal Dinner
2:11 p.m. || 08.27.03

Friday, August 15th Today we got up around 9 to leave for Delaware. We ended up leaving Andy's house around 10:30, so we werent too much behind schedule.

The drive wasnt too bad, up until Philadelphia. We hit some contruction, and some slow downs, but nothing too bad. When we hit Philadelphia though, we hit a brick wall of traffic. It was about 3:30pm. What should have taken us 45 minutes, took us about 2 hours, and we didnt get to the hotel til after 5pm. The rehearsal dinner was at 5, and we had really hoped to make it, but at this point we werent expecting much. So, we got our room, and I took a shower cause I was pretty sweaty. The AC in Andy's car wasnt working, and it was a pretty warm day. After I got ready, and Andy washed up, it was about 6. We decided to head over there anyways, and just make an appearance. We werent really expecting to stay, but just wanted everyone to know that we made it.

When we got there, there was still a lot of people around, and the food was still set out. Andy's cousin Erin, the one getting married, was one of the first to come up to us, and she told us to sit and eat and visit with everyone. She also asked how I was doing... Apparently Andy's aunts had spread the word about my accident. So we went over and talked to everyone, and then got our food. There was a lot to choose from, which was really nice. It turns out that a few of Andy's cousins werent even there yet, because they were flying in from Arizona, and couldnt get in the day before because of the blackout. Three of his cousins (Ben, Mike and Rob, all brothers) live out in Arizona and are always trying to get more family to move down there. They have been talking to Andy about taking a vacation down there, and have also been trying to get Erin and Bart (the couple who was getting married) to come down there too. Erin and Bart are seriously considering it, I guess.

So anyways, we ate and talked with everyone. When Andy's cousins and their wives finally showed up, they sat by us too, and it was nice to talk. After dinner, we tried to plan something to do that night, but everyone was pretty tired, and we didnt end up doing anything.

After Andy and I left the dinner, we decided to drive to where the wedding and reception would be held the next day, so we knew where to find it. It was very close by (everything pretty much was, which was really nice) and easy to find. After getting back to the hotel, we decided to go for a walk to the Embassy Suites Hotel next door, where a few other wedding guests were staying, because there was this waterfall that everyone was talking about, so we wanted to check it out. It was pretty, it came down over where they glass elevator came down. After leaving the Embassy, we went back to get Andy's car and drove around a bit. We were tired by then, so we came home and pretty much went right to bed. The wedding wasnt until 3:30 the next day, so we knew we could sleep in til whenever we wanted. Yay!!

Here are some pictures we took of the Lehigh Tunnel. For those of you who dont know, you have to go through the Lehigh Tunnel on 476, which goes under the Pocono Mountains. Its really cool, and I've gone through it a bunch of times, but its still fun.
