Alright, well I figured it was time for an update, its been a few days...

Wednesday... Wednesday was filled with lots of text messages and phone calls back and forth to my friend Jen. You see, our friend Phil's grandfather had passed away, and the wake was Wednesday evening. I had already planned to go, but Jen was undecided because of the weather. It had been really horrible around Syracuse, and she didnt want to take the chance of getting stuck somewhere between Syracuse and here. But, in the end, she decided to come out. She hit the road around 4, and got here a little after 6. I had class from 4:30-7, but because of the wake, and Jen coming into town, I left early, around 5:45. I had to stop at Tops to buy nylons, and I beat Jen to my apartment by about 5 minutes. Before I had left for class that afternoon, I left Andy a note telling him that we were going to the wake, and if he wanted to come, he was welcome to come with us. I didnt want to really push it, because of his own grandfather's deteriorating health, but I wanted him to know the invite was there. So when I got home from class, he is wearing a dress shirt and dress pants, and had a tie waiting to be put on. So, after Jen and I got dressed we went to the wake. It was really nice to see Phil, and he was really shocked to see Jen. I got to meet his mom and dad (finally), and see his younger brother again. We stayed for about 20 minutes, I think, and then we left. Jen headed back to Syracuse after that, text messaging me and listening to Rent the entire way, and Andy and I headed back home. I was really glad that he came with us.

Thursday... Thursday morning was the funeral for Phil's grandfather, so I woke up early to attend that. It was nice, and there were a lot of nice things said about him. I was glad that I was able to go. Afterwards was the drive to the cemetary, and the short talk there, and then I left to go home. I wasnt sure if I was supposed to go to the cemetary or not, but I just did what everyone else did. I know Phil was very close to him, and I wanted to pay my respects to a man who is held to such a high regard. I spoke with Phil briefly there, before I headed home. On the way, I stopped at Tops (and Andy made me a yummy chicken caesar salad wrap). I went home, ate that, and then fell asleep... sorta. The day I decide to take a nap (its been a rarity lately) is the day they decide to put the siding back on the apartment from when they put the windows in. BANG BANG BANG for 2 hours. I was exhausted. Around 4:45, Andy got home from work, promptly showered, packed a few last minute things, and was out the door to go back home to see his family. He managed to stop and see his grandfather in the hospital before going the rest of the way home, and then hung out with his brother for the entire night, and stayed over with him. I talked to his brothers girlfriend for awhile that evening. She really updated me on Andy's grandfather's condition. She also told me that they have given him about 2 weeks to live. UGH. He will be coming home on Monday and receive Hospice care at the house. He is tired of tests and treatments, and I dont blame him. After 80 years of life, he just wants to have some peace. I just hope I am able to make it up to see him before he passes. I feel REALLY bad about that. I havent seen him since November for Thanksgiving, I believe. I just want to see him again before he passes. As for the rest of my night, I just watched TV for the majority of it, got absolutely NOTHING done on my "to do" list, and was extremely unproductive. I finally fell asleep around 1:30am.

Today... Today I was woken up by a text message from Phil around 9am. It was just telling me that he fell asleep last night and thats why he didnt call me. My dumb phone vibrates too loudly. So anyways, I spent the majority of the morning on the computer. I dont even really know what I was doing. Playing a game or something. I talked to Andy for awhile, and was messaging back and forth with Jen, but that was about it. But... I actually worked today!! I went to work at 2pm, and did practically nothing all night. We had dinner EARLY, at like 4pm, and then one of the guys I work with, Mike, and I, took two of the residents to the Buffalo Auto Show... It was pretty cool! Both of the residents are in wheelchairs, so we had to run a few people over on the way but it was all good. Ok, so we didnt really do that, but man I wanted to!! For one thing, it is so hard to move a wheelchair around in a place like that, but people just walk everywhere, cut you off, stand in front of you, they just dont pay attention really. But we survived. Apparently Phil was there too, but I didnt know until after we left, so I wasnt really looking for him. By the time we got back, it was 9pm, so only one more hour of work! It flew by, and I was done. Right before I left, Phil messaged me and asked if I wanted to get together tonight, so I told him I got out of work at 10, but sure. So he tells me to call him when I get home, because he is going back to Toronto tonight because he has to work early in the morning. I got home around 10:15 and try to call and call, but he isnt answering his cell phone. So finally, I called his brother's apartment, and Phil answers the phone. He says that he is working on a door at his brother's apartment, and that he will call me when he is done. That was around 10:30. It is now 11:30. So much for calling me, and so much for going back to Toronto, or not. That just really pisses me off. Either dont bring up plans in the first place, or dont break them. Either do it, or dont do it, but I am tired of this crap. It would have been nice to see him, but right now I am sort of mad at him.

So thats pretty much it. I am leaving in the morning to go out to the Syracuse/Utica area... My grandma, Jen and I are going to see Bobby Vinton at the Turning Stone Casino. It should be a fun time, hopefully my grandma behaves and doesnt decide to strip for Bobby or something. She is completely in love with him. She even has a nightshirt that says "I Spent the Night with Bobby Vinton". LOL
