July 20 - Andy & Canal Fest
12:30 a.m. || 07.26.03

Sunday, July 20 Well, Andy finally showed up around 3:30am. I didnt go to sleep, but ended up watching a little TV. When he got there, we talked for awhile, got on the computer, and actually got ready for bed and got into bed Then I got hungry. I really wanted a McDonalds McGriddle sandwich, but since McDs wasnt open yet, we decided to go to Dunkin Donuts. I ended up getting a bagel with bacon, egg and cheese, and Andy got a bagel with butter and cream cheese. We came back to the apartment and ate, and then put on a movie and went to bed. I think it was almost 6am by then

I ended up getting up earlier than Andy that morning, so I went and grabbed my book (In Her Shoes by Jenniger Weiner) and crawled back in bed with him. He didnt end up waking up til almost 1, so we laid around and thought about things to do during the day. It was sorta rainy, so we hung around the house for awhile and then decided to get subs from Wegmans for dinner. Neither of us have had Wegmans subs in quite awhile, so they were pretty good. After we ate, we decided to try and go to Canal Fest, cause it was the last day and they were having fireworks. It had stopped raining by then, and we thought it would be good.

First, we decided to drive by these houses on Hertel Avenue in Buffalo. Two weeks ago there was an enormous warehouse fire and it ended up melting the siding off of the houses across the street. I wanted to see for myself, since this was an area I drive through a lot, and DAMN! The siding looked like it literally DRIPPED off of the houses and then hardened again. It was crazy. After driving past the houses and the burned out warehouse, we headed back to Tonawanda and found a place to park for Canal Fest.

It was after 9 by the time we got there, so we just grabbed the chairs from my trunk and decided to walk around a bit before going down to the park. Unfortunately, there wasnt much to see, since it was the last night, and everything was closing up. So, we headed down to Niawanda Park and got a place to sit and watch the fireworks. Unfortunately, since the ground was wet, we had to sit in the chairs and oculdnt cuddle up on the ground, but it was nice anyways. There were many different types of fireworks, a lot different than you see at normal 4th of July fireworks displays. It was pretty cool. After the fireworks were over, we walked back to the car and headed home.

When we got home, we talked to Holly for awhile, because we were thinking of going to visit her the next day, and we also talked to Lissy for awhile. After talking to Lissy, and having some troubles with Mark and his friend Sherry, we decided to head over to Tops cause we were a little hungry and aggravated. We ended up buying a lot of random things (toothpaste, deodorant, razor blades, and also Uncrustables I LOVE those things!!). Since Andy was pretty upset about what has been going on with Mark, he also bought what he called his feel better cake. It was a little round chocolate cake, with a smiley face on it. It was all very cute!!

When we got home, Andy ate his feel better cake, emailed Mark, and then I read a diary entry from Marks friend Sherry that really pissed me off. And she thinks we are the immature ones? But whatever. Anyways after reading THAT bullshit, we decided just to cuddle up together and make each other feel better. We went to bed and watched a movie, and just had a nice time together.

We had decided (for the most part) to go to Hollys the next day, so we tried to get to bed early, but that never happens

Here is a picture I took of Andy with his feel better cake. He looks sorta goofy as I had bombarded him with the camera so he stuck his tongue out at me. Silly boy! :-)
