June 12 - Florida

Okay, I figured I should finish up writing about my trip to Florida, so I will try and work on that now...

Thursday, June 12 Mark had off from work again today. But, like most days we were there, we slept in pretty late. By the time I got showered and ready it was after 2, and Mark wasnt ready yet. I was itching really bad from my sunburn, so I decided to lay on the couch while he was getting ready. I ended up watching Blues Clues, and fell asleep to Dora the Explorer and Oswald. Andy, however, didnt change the channel and watched these shows in their entirety. Maybe he realized that if he would have changed the channel, I would have woken up and been cranky and claimed to have been watching whatever was on TV. I get like that.

When Mark was ready, we decided to go see a movie. The weather looked pretty doubtful, and it was starting to sprinkle. We debated between Bruce Almighty (which Andy had already seen), and Finding Nemo. Well, after many coin tosses, etc. we decided on seeing Finding Nemo. Mark had gift certificates to the Regal Cinemas so we went there for a matinee show. The movie was really cute!! I had a couple of the McDonalds toys from the Happy Meals (Dory and since then, Crush), and they are so cute!! We snacked a bit during the movie, so we werent really hungry for much when we got out.

We decided to go down to the pier again (while getting eaten alive by mosquitoes) and try and see some more dolphins, but we didnt see any. We did, however see a pelican sitting right on the railing of the pier. A lot of people were taking pictures and it was really cool. I got one picture in (and not a great one, mind you) before this woman walks up and pets the bird. Well, of course the bird didnt find this too amusing so he flew away and no one got anymore pictures. Everyone was grumbling at this woman. We walked around the pier a bit more and watched the lightning from a storm that was coming in. It was still off in the distance a ways and the clouds were really cool. While we were there, this guy who was fishing caught a baby hammerhead shark. He let his kid hold it, and everyone got some pictures before they threw it back into the water. It was pretty neat to see a shark that close. A little later on, another fisherman also caught a baby shark. We noticed that the storm was moving considerably closer, so we decided to head back to the car.

On the way there, we stopped at this one souvineer shop and Andy ended up buying a musical sanddollar for his grandma. It played "Memory" from Cats, and it was really pretty. As the storm was getting closer by the minute, we headed out quickly. Walking back to the car was NOT fun, cause the lightning was RIGHT THERE. The whole area around ya just flashed and I kept flinching. It was cool, but not my idea of real fun. After debating where we wanted to eat, we just decided to go home and cook up the hamburgers we have bought at the store earlier that week. It turned out to be a good decision cause they were really good!

After eating, we played some more Fluxx, and then watched Something About Mary, while dozing off. Mark had to work the next morning, so we called it an early night.
